My oldest had been making great strides playing his acoustic every day. After playing a 3/4 electric, he's been jonesing for one of his own, and was looking on beezosmart. I told him that I didn't want to inhibit his gumption, but he needed something of above passing quality.
Luckily there was a Squire Strat Mini on the local classifieds. I told him it would cost more, but he was not deterred. In fact, after I came back with it and got it cleaned, he had finished an impromptu bake sale (kid loves to cook, too), paid it off and then some!
Pre clean and new strings. It's one of the Indonesian made ones, which, correct me, is early 2000s, yeah? Sounds good, only needed intonation on a couple strings, and apart from some gloss scuffing, in very good shape. He loves it, and that's all I care about, in the end.
