So after posting a thread recently about a used 2013 Gretsch Electromatic I went on a serious GAS bender. I went all the way to almost buying an epiphone casino then worked my way back to my original thought of buying the Jet.

After lurking reverb for while I found one from Prymaxe listed at $419 ($599 new). It said it was a 2018 model that had been returned but in Mint condition. I ended up buying directly from Prymaxe for $397 and it showed in about a day!

An even bigger surprise was when I received it the box looked new and when I was unpacking the guitar it looked awfully well packed again like from the manufacturer. All the plastic film was on every piece of the guitar. I mean maybe they just out all the film back on and glued up the box again but then I looked at the serial number and it’s a 2021 model! I’m confused but I’ll take it!

Anyways on to the guitar. These things have pretty stellar reviews online and I have to say they are right. It’s definitely the nicest guitar I’ve ever owned with maybe the exception of my Peavey EXP signature. Everything about this thing is excellent. Obviously some things I could upgrade like the tuners, bridge, pickups (maybe - I think they sound great for hard rock cause they’re not actual Filtertrons). Fit and finish is great the only things I can see is some very minisucule overspray in one spot and some stain from the fretboard on the binding but I could care less. We’ll see if there is a honeymoon stage but this is the happiest gear purchase I e made in a while. Instant joy upon first strum. I love the chambered body you can definitely feel it resonating.

Dang, great deal!
That's a beautiful guitar! I've played a few of these and the fit and finish, playability and tone are all super impressive, I love the chevron tailpiece.
Merry Christmas!!

Yeah the quality of this one makes me strongly consider getting the semi hollow 335 looking one. The tailpiece is a favorite of mine too.

Merry Christmas to you too!

Looks great, I've been wanting another Gretsch, I really miss the one I sold sometimes, they get certain sounds you can't get on anything else

Yeah I’m noticing that for sure. Just something about it I can’t quite put my finger on yet. It’s got the punch for harder rock music like my Peavey EXP but way more chime and character especially in the neck.
