No delay on seabed. (Because I am an idiot. Read below for a good laugh)

I have had dead circuits before but this one is a fist for me.

I engage switch I do get LED. Sound does come through the circuit pretty much clean (nearly the same as bypass) but no delay or echo. When I crank level up all the way I can hear a faint hiss in the signal, but no delay.

I almost feel like it’s a jack or switch issue but I can’t see where I went wrong everything appears to be wired right. Maybe a second set of eyes will help?

Check the PT2399, is it in wrong. The build doc has it with Pin1 top left side, you have Pin1 on bottom right

Soooo. I lined up the dot instead of the notch in the IC. That is usually gonna cause a problem.
I think it’s working now, I tried some notes through headphones (family is in bed now) and it seems ok.
Will box it and rock it tomorrow

Yeh I saw that and was testing it while you posted. That stupid chip has a dot and a notch.

But thanks for catching i could have just as easily looked at it for days and not ever caught that. I guess I’ll be in the look out for that in the future.

The dots are from the mold ejection pins, on smaller IC's they may only have 1 of these and use it for Pin1. On bigger IC's they have more and may offset one to indicate pin1 or they will use a notch, or both. There is no standard from manufacturer to manufacturer. So you have to look and see how each manufacturer does it for each chip. And I will GUARANTEE you are not the first to do that, nor will you be the last.

Good news is this am after trouble shooting another dumb mistake (forgot to put the plastic bezel in the LED and it shorted out on the enclosure, it’s working fine now.

I think my more frequent mistake is forgetting to add *any* IC at all before testing... My score is probably not better than 50% of the time I think about it... Yeah, I suck.

Guilty of this also. Might even have the same batting average! ? I normally test the circuit before boxing it. Power it up and....NOTHING! W T F! OH I’m a big fat stupid dumb! No IC, No sound!
