No negative posts allowed?????

I mentioned this before the thread turned a little nasty and got cleaned up.

He's not wrong, but there's no nefarious intent. I haven't been processing reviews actively for a few months (If I'm sitting at the computer when a moderation report comes in I'll click it) since we're going to be getting a rewards system at some point in the near future.

I figured anyone who has posted a review would appreciate accumulating points, and it seemed a little shady to go ahead and process them all now knowing there'd be no credit given for it.

I'm still hoping we get pics, or at least some sort of response.

It's just a little odd when someone drops in reporting that a PCB that has been built literally hundreds of times is defective, not once, but twice in one day. No email, no troubleshooting, just straight to negative reviews and no replies to communication.

Is this a genuine review? I don't know.

Lifting pads and traces on two PCBs in a row is certainly concerning, in fact I've never seen it happen before in my life, so I'm extremely interested in seeing pictures (and I suspect JLCPCB would be as well).

Thank you Robert for clearing this up. I am with you that the OP should name names and give us the chance to go to the bottom of things.

I've already issued a refund and I'll absolutely approve the review regardless, but I'd really hate for the reviews to become irrelevant because they're overrun with what should have been troubleshooting threads.... but that also feels borderline to "vetting", so it's a slippery slope. :ROFLMAO:

When I worked at GK (1988-92), one tried not to become known as a "pad lifter". They actually had their own in house through hole wave solder PCB assembly when I started.

Soldering, especially SMT, was a really strong motivator for me to get into DSP. I've been doing DIY electronics since I was 7 though so just building stuff doesn't hold much of a thrill.

I guess what concerns me is prioritizing getting the negative review out there in the wild over resolving the problem or even asking for a refund.

This very well could just be frustration, and I get it, I've thrown my stuff against the wall in frustration... It's really annoying when things don't go well, and it's infuriating when they go wrong twice.... but there are also those folks out there who don't really "appreciate" what we do here and take every chance they can to throw shade, even if it's fabricated.

I'm just trying to determine which one we're dealing with. Either is fine.

Uhm......what is it we do here again?......

Ummm - yeah - I have a negative post too.

All 76 of the PPCB's I ordered have caught fire suddenly. And burned down my house twice. And burned my cat's tail hair off (Poor Mr Fluffy Boots). And my wife left me. And my truck broke down. And the kids at school were mean to me.

It had nothing to do with me leaving my iron on all night resting on a stack newspapers next to a 5 gallon gas can that was filled with 110 octane gas I was huffing! Nope! That couldn't be it!

I’m gonna pile on here too.
I’ve spent too much money on PCBs from here, and now I don’t have money to buy the parts for said PCBs. I’d like a full refund for all of my purchases over the past however many years (but I’ll keep the PCBs, thanks you very much) so I can instead put that money towards a really neat guitar or maybe a violin or flute since I’ve always wanted to learn one of those. Thanks bro 😍

Speaking as a mindless, two dimensional consumer of products that has existed online in some form for most of his life...

I can confirm that, yes, it is far easier to engage in drive-by grievance flinging than it is to actually...eh...engage with people.

There is an issue with the internet: we're social animals. We're wired to make assumptions about things based on information available.

NOW...look, I know this is your house and I'm at significant risk of appearing to be engaging in the digital version of a handy...

But you've got something pretty impressive with PPCB. Its the sort of operation and website that, on its surface, belies a team of guys in square-rimmed glasses picking apart circuit boards and testing diodes in test tubes and the like. As well as a full, self-contained PCB manufacturing suite.

It doesn't *seem* like the sort of thing that is run by one guy and (I presume) a lot of caffeine.

All that is to say; it ain't this dude's fault that he thinks he can be more yelp by posting a negative review warning others off than by actually engaging you and getting it sorted out. Its Amazon's. Its his cable company's. Its any corporate behemoth that has grown too large to engage in such petty things like humane interactions with its customers.

All that is to say...everything kinda sucks and sometimes folks get the wrong idea when we're just trying to stay competitive in this world. I mean, cause like...you're not Amazon, right? You know you've gotta let me know if you are. Blink twice if you aren't Amazon.

Which is also to say...hey...hold this molotov cocktail for me.
