Hi,
I've been playing with electronics again, and messing around with some distortion circuits. I built a Rat clone on my breadboard as a base to play with mods, but I'm not getting an output signal unless I feed it with a tone generator at very high volume (from my iPhone). Feeding it a guitar signal results in no signal out.
The circuit is from electrosmash (https://www.electrosmash.com/images/tech/pro-co-rat/pro-co-rat-schematic-parts.jpg), and I've cross checked it with a couple of other sources. Component values and connections appear to be the same across the circuits I have looked at.
I've verified voltages on the opamp and at the voltage splitter junction. I can trace the signal to the input side of C1, but the output side has no signal unless the volume of the input is at maximum. I have replaced C1 and get the same behavior.
Any ideas as to what is going on here?
Edit: Forgot to mention the signal in is the white wire.
