Noob Overdrive Gain Question

Hi all, first post and first pedal build.

Managed to complete the Mach 1 overdrive which is the Greer Lightspeed clone, all went well and seems to be working however one observation, the gain really isnt very strong.

It is responding but has to be at 10 to really dirty the signal up. Is this a problem with the way I’ve built this or is the op amp or just the pedal design?

can anyone suggest any improvements to increase the gain?

Replace the A500K drive pot with an A1M pot.

I have this pcb but haven't built it yet so can't confirm from experience, but I do think it's considered a very low gain drive, so I doubt there's anything wrong with your build.
