Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

I didn't know shit about Linda Ronstadt other than knowing her name until this morning, and this is another case of "where has this been?" I landed here because of Bob Warford's b-bender playing, and stayed for the rest. I was like "wait I know this song!" Of course cuz the byrds covered it too, and it's on Gene Parsons's Kindling album, amongst other places. What else I didn't know until this morning though is that Lowell George wrote this one, and while he was in Mothers of Invention, which I didn't know he was in either. I sure do love finding out how all these things connect. That's one of my favorite parts of learning about music

She has that effect on people

"I almost made it through a year of choking down my fears
But they're gone for now
All thanks to Linda Ronstadt"

Speaking of AJJ, if you haven't given them a listen you ought to. "People Who Can Eat People Are the Luckiest People in the World" is a great starting place.

I saw them on a friend's back porch several years ago 🙃

Oh, man - that's awesome. I have been fans of theirs for ages and have seen them twice (once with a full band and once with just guitar and upright) and it was amazing. I can't imagine it at an informal outdoor deal, though. That is super rad and I am incredibly jealous.

This is from the second time I saw them in 2017:

It had to have been 2010 when I saw them

Spinning a classic tonight.

My partner is out with her friend tonight and that means that I get to sip some wine and work my way through the Silver Jews catalog in whichever way I please.

Some days are just good.
