Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

If you start losing interest with the long build up, it gets more intense around 8:30. Dude does some interesting things with a trumpet into fx.

As a companion to my above post, here is the unedited raw master take of the same song from the Hot Rays deluxe box set:

Man, that box set is so damn good. I just wish it had more of the Weasels material, since weasels was essentially just hot rats outtakes and heavily edited live material, and that’s my favorite Zappa album (to the point that I’ve spent years trying to track down an original copy of the Weasels Ripped My Flesh issue of Man’s Life that the cover was inspired by (I already have the Saturday Evening Post with the Schick ad)

Two deep cuts for @Harry Klippton based on his list of stuff he’s into that he posted the other day.

First we have the DEEPEST of cuts by Eddie Floyd (Stax Staff Writer and of “Knock on Wood” fame). “Good Love, Bad Love” was brought to national attention by the movie Death Proof but still remains largely unknown:

Second is a recording by the REAL Fleetwood Mac of “Twist and Shout”:

Knock on wood is such a great album. I hadn't heard this one, thanks!

I like their other stuff, but this one's my favourite. It's less than 20 years old, which makes it contemporary for me.
