Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

Feeling this. Thanks for sharing

You're welcome!!

I found out about them maybe 15 minutes before I posted that while looking up artists similar to Mildlife, one of my favorite contemporary psych jazz fusion bands. Other than doom metal, stuff in this arena is really my favorite music.

Zwango Zop is a good intro to Mildlife. Incredibly excited for the LP coming in March.

I also found out about The Diasonics the same way yesterday. Unbelievably groovy. Gurami's a good introduction IMHO but I have yet to check out albums before Origins of Form

Not sure if the bass is string-based. They did use real guitars on Campfire Headphase (much to the annoyance of some reviewers/fans). Needed some BoC today; things are pretty rough. A cool thing about them: they don't take down some fan-made videos, but add them to their channel's playlist. Found that out by accident when I did a middling edit of some old (and lower res) 1950s-60s bomber flights and Trident assembly ('70s?) footage to Alpha and Omega from the LP Geogaddi and started getting comments all over the place.

Kinda bummed it's been over 10 years now since their last LP, Tomorrow's Harvest, dropped.

man.... Geogaddi blew my mind so hard when it came out. Such a good listen from start to finish. Love me some Boards of Canada. I didnt really dig Campfire Headphase as much as earlier albums even though it had guitar on it.

Geogaddi is probably my favorite now. I got it after Campfire somehow… I was living in western Washington State at the time Campfire dropped, and it will always feel like I'm in the pines looking out onto the Pudget Sound.

Geogaddi will always be my rebound album: moved out of my hometown after the recession led me back there. Love the fond memories, but too many deadening ones to ever live there again.

Well I was listening to this ...

...when I was led down a dark path by the TB ambient thread...

That's right Edna !?

That left me Kind Of Bloop

...which I didn't want to feel Bloop, so that made me hangry and full of eight-red...

Sorry, I return you to your regular scheduled "Now Playing..."

preface: by the time I was 15, I was super closed up with my music, not listening to anything or anything anyone would suggest (I still do that a bit this many years on; have to let it sneak up on me, not someone tell me about it). This album was forcibly ripped to my disused laptop after moving in with my bandmates in 2007, and even though it was a decade after the fact, this album hit me hard (in a good way).
