Got this as a local trade for my Squire Cabronita Baritone Tele since no one seemed to have cash to offer. Even as questionable a condition as it ended up being I feel pretty good ab it. It’s a 2015 MIM standard Strat that someone has modded to be similar to a Jim Root Strat. The pups alone are worth 1/2 the value of the baritone. Has a SD jazz in the neck and a JB in the bridge. As received, the neck pup wasn’t connected and the bridge was wired direct to the volume pot. The replacement bridge was super jank and the pickgaurd was screwed in however possible because the holes didn’t align. The tuners are locking of unknown brand, but seem to function properly. Body has some bumps and bruises, but that’s fine by me.Long story short, the transaction was slightly questionable. As far as I can tell, the guy maybe played guitar, but he didn’t even know how to operate a straploc. He seemed to be a trade person and I suspect he may have taken it as a partial payment for a side job, or it was stolen….hopefully not. Planned upgrades are a CRL 5-way switch with coil splitting, new Wilkinson bridge, new pickguard (either black, or mint/black/mint), pure tone jack, and a CTS volume pot.
