On a roll building some pedals lately. Just put together a Nugget Fuzz (Cornish NG-2).
Graphics inspired by Canadian generic grocery store brand No Name, whose labels are hilariously deadpan descriptors of the product in lowercase Helvetica in English and French.
I socketed the germanium diodes based on prior discussion on here about germanium diode leakiness affecting this circuit. The 1N34As I used (from Stomboxparts) seemed to work fine. I measured them both at ~550k-600k ohms reverse resistance. I plan on getting some batches of various germanium diodes and hopefully find some minimally leaky ones I can experiment with. I need to experiment with the bias a bit more as well, but I just adjusted the trimmer by ear somewhere in the range between where it's insanely noisy and when it cuts out entirely.
Classic fuzz that's fairly glitchy, though I don't find a lot of useful settings. Mostly have drive, sustain and tone turned all or most of the way up and otherwise don't find much very useful. It doesn't really clean up if I roll back my guitar volume either. We'll see if tweaking bias and trying other diodes affects that, but I do enjoy the sounds I'm getting out of it so far.
