Shitty tube screamer variant. Build the plumes or dunes clone or something. (Or just buy a plumes)

Soundwise I have pretty much the same experience as the guys in this thread. I almost wondered if I did something wrong. It's weak.

Something I learned with this build though is the metallic chrome tayda paint jobs are thick enough that the ppcb template won't fit correctly over it but I made it work.

box looks great though! maybe could save it for something else. (would probably fit an UberDrive quite nicely)

when this one first showed up in 'upcoming releases' i was pretty excited to see it and possibly breadboard the circuit.
but, sadly, its just an 808 with a poor choice of clipping diodes.

fortin could chuck any old circuit in a box, write up some marketing spiel about how they've carefully tuned it to snap necks (with 1 or 2 component value substitutions) and every metal simp will want it because fortin.

Thanks for the tips! If it's that close to a normal 808 it should be easy for me to try to find some good mods for it or something. I haven't really looked at the circuit much but I probably should have. I definitely trusted Fortin too much on this lol.

if you want to try some different clipping diodes, you could pull the x2 mosfets and drop in a clipping switch here:


(sw1 & sw2 to the points circled in red, can just use a regular on/on DPDT)
