Odd behaviour in Episode booster

Hi! I completed my build of the Episode Booster last night. Everything wired up and closed the box, but when I plugged it in, some weird things happened:
1. The pot seems reversed! For most of its range, there is no effect. Only when it is almost closed (all the way counter clockwise), does the signal suddenly increase sharply.
2. When I engage the Fat toggle, the signal first drops completely, and then slowly sputters back.

I realized id forgotten to bias the transistor, so I opened it up this morning to try that, but to no avail.

I used a kit from Musikding.de. The only things slightly odd about this build were the fact that my trimpot only has three legs while the pcb seems to have five holes, and the transistor supplied by musikding has a different marking that the build doc requires.

Anybody got any ideas? IMG_4605.jpeg IMG_4606.jpeg

It seems like your pot and switches are mounted wrong way up. They need to be installed on the other side of the board. Maybe use the search function to cross-check some functional build reports. The extra spaces around the trimmer are to accommodate different form factor trimmers, so no worries there.

Oh god you’re right, so silly. Thanks!
If you have a solder sucker, you can try carefully desoldering the connections. Go one connector at a time and don’t overheat the switches if you want to try reusing them. A bit of a mission but doable with patience.
