This is a Mask Audio Electronics board. I'd originally built it to their Big Clang spec, and it was meh. So, I tried the Albini spec. It's was even more meh. Today, I decided to just use the specs from the Percolation Station build doc, except I used different transistors and diodes, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Sounds awesome buffered or unbuffed, and it gets quite a bit louder than using straight germanium diodes.

Transistors are Toshiba 2SB54 and BC109C, diodes are a GAZ51 and an infrared LED

Decided to use one of the NOS 1590B-sized Bud EconoBoxes. I left all the oxidation and grime, as I feel it matches well with the sounds this boxes gets

Have some clang

Fairly easy build, even though I basically had to rebuild it thrice 🤣. MAE makes some great boards, though

Nice follow through on this. It's sounding pretty good now. I'm still too annoyed to make mine work and I robbed the pot for something else more exciting
It's a fun lil circuit. Definitely not worth the headache, though.

I've decided I'm just gonna stick to the traditional spec for anymore of these I build, only changing the transistors and diodes. Everything else is too much a hassle
