Open Cut Design: Bad to Leave Inside Of Pedal Open?

I recently designed an enclosure with tayda box tool's line cutter that leaves holes to the inside of my pedal open. Is it safe/okay for the circuit inside to be open this way? Would the circuit board and wiring get dirty and break easily or should I use some clear plastic to cover the holes from the inside?

It’s fine as long as you’re not spilling stuff into it. 90% of Jacks are already open holes to the inside.
Thanks, was just worried that having the electronics in the open air would mess them up over time but I guess its just as probable with a sealed pedal regardless.

If you have cats, any opening to the inside of the pedal is a potential entry point for cat pee. That stuff is so acidic.... I had a brass bowl with some pennies in it, the cat pee'd in it and the brass was *plated* with copper from the pennies. Actually looks kind of cool.

Any holes that point upwards will more easily allow liquids to enter. A hole on the side will just drip down and not go in, which is why those holes are on the side and not pointed upwards. Most of the musicians I know like to imbibe tasty beverages while playing......
