Ordering stuff (not through Tayda now)

LCSC is great for actives (I bought 50 TI TL072's last time because I figured it would last me ~forever, was around 11€), but if you're avoiding Tayda due to tariffs and shipping, I'm not sure LSCS is going to be much better for people in the US.

I do have to chime in with an LCSC horror story -- at least for folks in the USA.

I learned (the very hard way) that after the third line item, UPS charges $3-5 **PER LINE ITEM ON THE INVOICE**
for some kind of bullshit 'paperwork fee'. So I ordered ~$200 in parts from LCSC and got soaked for $250 from
UPS in tariff related nonsense. It was pretty galling to pay $0.80 for a strip of 100 capacitors but have to pay
$5 for the luxury of actually importing it.

In the future I'll probably stick to things that I can realistically only get at LCSC (there were some RF amplifiers/filters
that didn't have a local source) or higher value items where paying the line item fee makes sense once it's amortized
against the component costs.

I assume that all of the carries do this and it's not a UPS-specific thing, but please chime in if you've had a different
experience.

This isn't a problem for JLC because they do prepaid DDP where they pre-handle the paperwork.
