So it's been forever so I've posted a build report, but that doesn't mean I haven't been building! In fact, this is the first in a slew of build reports I've been meaning to post that are finally coming your way...whether you like it or not!

When was the last time you built a pedal for novelty's sake? Well, that's indeed what the Bitbreaker is and as soon as I saw it, I had to build it. My best mate growing up now runs a hedge fund, and his biggest position is in Nintendo (free tip for you all...he knows what he's doing). He has been begging me to find a pedal that makes your guitar sound like an 8-bit video game synth, so I built this for him (plan to build myself one as well, as it's super fun). Parasit describes it as a "minimalist octave down" circuit, which is an accurate description. A super easy build, I was busting out the Super Mario and Zelda themes in no time.

This one-knobber can easily fit in a 1590A, but my buddy doesn't like small pedals so I enclosed it into this Hammond 1590B. I don't know if I'm that thick and/or just not very intuitive, but I had to flip the board upside down in order for the pot to be positioned to turn clockwise (see pic). I threw a toadstool decal I had on there cause I knew my friend would get a kick out of it.

Sorry to disappoint you all, but the demo is not me. Until I stop spending money on pedal crap and get a sweet DI setup like @MichaelW, you all probably aren't going to hear me play (unless you don't mind demos recorded on an iPhone 12 or a Tascam Portastudio :)).

Parasit describes this as a good first build and I'd agree, but only for someone with at least a bit of soldering experience. The pads are quite close together in spots and I can tell you that if I tried this as a first build, I would've destroyed it.

Super fun! Highly reccommended.

Most of Parasit's boards have all the pots oriented to sit over the back, not hang over the edge
