Parasite Wah - suggestions on potentiometers?

Just finished my build of this effect a few days ago. It works and sounds great, but the pot I used is not working out for a wah build.

I compared it to an original Dunlop Crybaby wah pot, and the Dunlop pot turns easily and smoothly. The one I bought doesn't. Actuating the pedal is difficult, and it usually doesn't move at all.

If you've successfully built this circuit and placed it inside a wah enclosure, what pot did you end up going with?

I did, yeah. You can see the pot has section filed flat so the pinion gear could fit on it. I just didn't photograph it with the gear on, that's all.
Gotcha. Just had to make sure first. Is it only that the pot has too much mechanical resistance preventing you from moving the treadle? Or are you still able to make the treadle move (albeit with difficulty), but the pot shaft doesn't rotate accordingly?
If you’re able to share a quick 10-20 second video demonstrating the issue, I’m sure we can get you sorted out. If the pot is just too difficult to turn, it might just have too much grease inside. If so, I’ll see if I can find a write up on how to clean some of the grease out of a high-friction pot.
