hey y'all
great to be here. first time post in this forum
this is another PARENTHESES MINI-thread, i scanned to others and "my problem" didn't come up yet i guess.
after a couple of pedalkits, i went for a PARENTHESES MINI-kit from Musikding.
i assembled it, tried it and it didnt work.
the boost section on its own works fine (sounds goes thorugh, boost poti works). but the rest doesnt.
a friend of mine (who is way more experienced than me) took a closer look, with a DMM and a probe (inserting sound with a probe, the output still works as an output).
the problem must be between the input and the OCTAVE-potentiometer.
when we put sound in the 1 and 2 of the Octave-potentiometer, the fuzz circuit is hearable. sound is distorted (less than expected but that might another issue, probably Q1 and Q5, as mentioned in other threads)
there are three points from where the signal is still clean (and no octave hearable)
1. when we put sound right before C7 (1uf) the sound is still clean.
2. when we put sound at R18(47k)/R19(470k) it's clean too.
3. when we put sound at R4(10k) it's clean too
4. we noticed that at C2 (100n), sound arrives from input, but the sound is cut off "in" C2, but the cap works fine according to the DMM. (might the pcb be broken?)
we checked C5(22n) which works fine
voltage, we tried this with a battery (7,8V) and a multi-powersocket (8,7V)
IC-Voltage:
1 8,5 (7,5)
2 4,3 (3,8)
3 4,3 (3,8)
4 0 (0)
5 0 (0)
6 4,3 (3,8)
7 8,5 (7,5)
8 8,5 (7,5)
here are two pictures of the PCB:
(Diods/Blue Ring, facing up)
i'm not the worlds best solder-master but i guess all points should be ok.
the wiring is suitable for testbox right now, thats why there are so many wires missing.
and right now, we reached the end of our fantasy and imagination.
does anyone have any ideas on what to try and test and probe?
all advice and ideas are very much appreciated
cheers
robert
