SOLVED Parentheses mini fuzz troubles (Defective Jfet)

Hi everyone,

I just finish my Fuzz, Bypass is ok, Boost is ok, but no sound for the RAT (just noise)
I'm looking on the forum for the same trouble.

First, I see that the Russians Germanium diode have to turn upside down on the PCB. I'm pretty sure that they are Russian, but someone could confirm ?
It's a Musikding's kit and they listed two D9E. Here
But mine doesn't looks the same (Have a blue ring)

Q1 9.14, 0.23, 0.00
Q2 3.93, 4.20, 9.14
Q3 7.24, 6.50, 1.85
Q4 0.25, 0.78, 6.50
Q5 9.13, 0.20, 0.00
Q6 4.73, 2.30, 0.20

Do you have 2 off 2N5457 you can try in Q1 & Q5?

I think you’ve got bad JFETs, if you have others throw them in and check. Most N channel JFETs should work, I found 2n5458 to work the best in mine.

As Nostradoomus said, Try 2N5457, 2N5458 in Q1 & Q5

You are the 2nd person in as many days with same Issue!

No have these reference, but i try with MPF4393 of my Sabbath distortion....and it's working. Thanks to all.
I will buy 2N5458 when possible.

I would try & get the PF5102 from a reliable source now you know the Issue.
Contact Muskding & tell them that the PF5102 might be Fakes!
