Parts List download

Is it possible to get a download of the parts lists as a separate Excel File (in many of the build docs it looks like they were created in Excel)? That way we could sort on the component values to more easily get a unit count for an order list.

When I first started down this rabbit hole I merely copied and pasted the PDF into excel. You'll have to then play around with it a bit since it doesn't format very well when transferring, but it does work. After doing this a few times I realized I should just buy extras of everything and take inventory once in a while when starting a new board.

Even just having a BOM like in MBP build docs would be nice. Of course this just adds to Mr PPCBs workload and I definitely wouldn’t expect him to go back and do it for all of the old projects.

The problem with that is relying on my memory of what I did didn't buy...and of course of all those late night, half asleep orders after browsing all the parts places....I've found that I've made a bunch of duplicate orders and yet somehow I'm always still missing that "one" value cap hahaha.

Unfortunately, it happens to all of us, me included. You can pretty much do one of two things: either buy extras of everything on the list or do a semi-big Tayda order and 20 of each value of resistor and 10-20 in caps. I did a combination of the two over the 2-3 years of this sweet hobby.

I usually try to pull parts for a build from existing inventory and then note what I need to order. I will try to add to that order anything from the parts list where my inventory was starting to run low. It helps, and sometimes it is a treat to sort out a build where all the parts are already in house.
