I do not think there is a better overdrive circuit and I have built several. I have finally built one in the MXR style configuration that I enjoy. I Also enjoy the color I enjoy. No isolated bypass module because it does not fit in a 1590b and the circuit does fine without it. I am a fan of the Timmy so I love this circuit; it has transparency, Plexi rattle, Timmy control, TS808 crunch and gain with lots of headroom. With a six string, a Princeton Reverb and this circuit, you might be able to conquer the world. This is a very versatile and dynamic pedal. The toggle switch does what it says. This is a simple build that gives you a great ROI with different useable tones. I like the toggle switch (HP/LP High Peak / Low Peak): it changes the voice and gain. The circuit has amp-like response.
I used a Ball silver 1590a enclosure from Tayda, but this color get messed up of you even look at them so I sprayed it... it has a film free decal and Spraymax 2k clear coat. I used a PPCB breakout board with LED and installed a 3mm red LED with a red freznel. Davies 1510 red aluminum knobs. I used the PPCB low profile electrolytic capacitors but they are just 10u and you may already have short ones. I used 9mm off board potentiometers and a Taiway on/on SPDT toggle. The footswitch is a Love My Switches soft click and the D.C. jack is Lumberg. I also used the low profile enclosed jacks and to hole the board in place I used automotive 3m dual sided tape. This all fits fairly easily in a 1590b but the pcb had to be turned sideways, I had to use off board potentiometers, off board LED, and off board toggle were necessary. I soldered in the Germanium D9E Diodes because they sound great.

Notes
- Order a TL082 op-amp if you do not have one - a TL072 works fine here if you do not want to wait
- Get legitimate Ge diodes and do not orient them based on the stripe - look for the cathode.
- No isolated power needed - if you use the recommended isolated bypass module you absolutely need isolated power.
