I think this circuit sounds like a Plexi - amp-like. It gets open and airy amp-like crunch and overdrive...also serious rolling distortion. I love the way a Plexi circuit sounds. It sounds like Bluesbreaker with more overall headroom, more gain, and better versatility. It will rattle the windows and it is FUN. You can dial in great clarity and it is dynamic - responding to your attack. Th tone knob really adds sparkle!

Tayda 125b enclosure with a traditional waterslide and sprayed with 2k clear. I used a PPCB top jack plate and Switchcraft jacks. I used a low profile footswitch because the board is long and it is tight fitting a footswitch. I used two 20mm aluminum knobs and one 15mm. I used a clear red 3mm in a clear freznel. I used the PPCB breakout board with brightness control to locate the LED near the footswitch, and I ran a jumper wire accross the LED terminals on the main board. No hard to source parts or odd values.

I socketed the clippers in an Dip8 IC socket. but I may stop doing that. Not sure anyone will be adventurous enough to start messing with diodes.

Notes:

1. This is a long board (2.25") so you will have to plan for the footswitch - I used a low profile footswitch
2. 2 dual op-amps- I used RC4558p but you can use JRC4558D.
3. Three B50k potentiometers
4. Four IN4148 diodes - if you are adventurous you can try others but the IN4148s seem like the right choice

The BMC really is great for such a simple circuit. Guess I’ll have to add this to the queue…I’m interested in the Mr. Black Thunderclaw as well. Don’t know a whole lot about it but I know Rabbea Masaad uses one on his board for something lol.
