So many potentiometers, J201s and 100k trimmers. When I fired it up on the PPCB auditorium platform it was spitting and gating. With the gain up it goes to complete saturation. I fiddled with the trimmers until I got it working the way I like it and behold, it brought forth great tones. The bass and treble potentiometers please me. The circuit has terrific headroom. I can get Plexi and bluesbreaker style tones but the circuit cleans up well too! I can get that tight low-end "chug, or flub" and I can also dial up a grainy, less-compressed sound. Stacks well with a Tube Screamer.

The build is great and you can put the comonents together in a few hours. The J201s take the longest if you use the SMD-board-type. I used the fragile-finish Tayda Champaign 125b enclosure - I coated it with 2k clear right away, then drilled holes and added a film free decal. I also protected it again with 2k clear. The knobs are red boss style probably 15mm. The LED is a 3mm without a bezel (1/8" hole). I used the PPCB LED breakout board because it is a big board with a tight fit. It is a full size footswitch but maybe I should have used a compact switch? I used enclosed jacks and a PPCB top jack plate. I do not think there were any other odd value parts

This is my 187th build and I feel like I really got good at painting by numbers. Soon it will be time to understand more about the circuits. Thanks for the help along the way and thanks for looking in on my builds. I like this one!

Notes
  1. Needs six J201a - not much room for the J201s because they are right next to the trimmers.
  2. Needs six 100k trimmers
  3. Maybe ensure that your footswitch hole is drilled low because it is a tight fit.

I've lost count of how many builds I've done, but I'm pretty sure it's less than 187. Congratulations! I enjoy your build reports, and as you know, you turned me on to the SprayMax 2k.
