Works as intended. Sounds like a Q-Tron or a parked wah with an additional mode. The LFO is blue and works with the sample/hold mode - so you have a visual indicator that you are in sample/hold mode and the blue LED's blink rate is your speed. The red LED is the bypass - pedal on red LED on. I probably needed about 20 minutes to dial in trimmers and I am not even sure it is where it should be, but it is ok. It gives me some "Money for nothing" vibes. I much prefer the "envelope filter" mode to the more trippy "sample/hold" mode. The envelope filter mode is just more useable IMO and reminds me of a Mad Professor Snow White that I ran on my board for a while.
I accidentally soldered in a Bat 41 and Bav 21 in D1 and D2 where two Bat 46s are supposed to be. When I tried the circuit on the PPCB auditorium platform the pedal was very quiet - it worked but the sound could not get to unity. After installing the correct Bat 46s it worked as intended. After that it was a matter of adjusting the two internal trimmers to get useable sounds - you especially have to dial in the trimmer for the "filter" pot. I note that this build is not too difficult. There are some not so run of the mill components: a 3pdt on/on toggle, several 150n film caps, a B2m potentiometer and maybe a few odd resister sizes like the180k. My three J201a are from PPCb and they are through-hole mounting style. Also Note: the drilling template does not have the correct location for the LED holes. They should be about 3/8 or more lower (toward the footswitch); I had to make some aggressive bends in the LED legs to fit them in my bezels.
I copied the theme of the Maestro for this pedal. The enclosure is a matte white 125b with a film free decal. The pedal was then coated with 2k matte clear. The tall 12.5mm matte blue knobs are from LMS. I used a PPCB top jack plate and Lumberg jacks. The footswitch is a normal 2kg click and I used a PPCB breakout board. The decal is slightly off center near the footswitch and the Filter/Sample hold labels are not centered above and below the toggle but I can live with it. IME it is more difficult to use film free on rough surfaces and you can see where my decal has some small spots of missing color; especially in the blue shaded areas.
