This went together easily and worked immediately. I did have a short wait for a proper 2N5485 before starting the build and I used a JRC4558 instead of an LM. I used 1/4 watt metal film resistors and I went with the Lumberg jacks, and a Tayda 125b enclosure. The LED is 5mm orange diffused and the LED bezel is gold low profile from LMS, Footswitch is a 1kg 3pdt. This is a simple pedal that has a confounding counterintuitive sensitivity adjustment.

The sensitivity increases when you turn the knob counterclockwise. You start at ten where there is no clamp, turn counterclockwise and eventually you get to a very hard clamp that stops all sound at about 8 o'clock. As others said when the clamping comes as you turn left, it gets abrupt as it cuts off more frequencies and can cause a fizzle as it muzzles the signal. I imagine with high gain pedals you would utilize that clamp down. Just plugging this in and turning the knob all the way clockwise you engage the pedal and it stops all hiss from your amp.

Other devices do this better and without the confounding counterclockwise increase in sensitivity. I made a decal to instruct others on pedal operation and put it on the oversized 32mm knob.
