Very uneven and rumbling, sometimes flubby, fuzz. Hard to dial in useable tones for my style of playing. It sustains forever and the controls do not seem all that useful inn controlling the fuzz. The potentiometers have names like Output, Wool, Eq and Pinch. The circuit is thick and low (woolly?) but you can dial in just a modicum of shimmer. Overall I would give this an A for ease of build and a B for useable tones. I am sure as a flubby-fuzz I could find some useable sounds. Decent headroom, but not overpowered. This circuit delivers rumbling fuzz with heavy, uneven fuzz tones.

The controls:
  • Output: Master volume.
  • Wool: Controls the fuzz intensity and saturation.
  • EQ: Tilts the balance from sub-heavy low end to high-frequency bite.
  • Pinch: Adjusts the pulse width/bias to sweep from smooth, full sustain to gated, sputtery, and "flubby" fuzz textures.
Easy build with common parts; ROI is great. I went with a D.C. top jack and enclosed side jacks. The enclosure is a Tayda 1590b and the decal is a waterslide. The enclosure was sprayed with 2k matte clear. The decals werr designs taken from the original ZVEX pedal. I used a 3mm orange LED with no bezel. The knobs are aluminum green Davies 1510 and the footswitch is a full size. I did put a few drops of epoxy around the Lumberg D.C. jack.

Notes
  1. Fits easily in a 1590b
  2. for a 1590b you need three low profile 100u electrolytic capacitors - PPCB has them
  3. For the build you need one B2k, two B10k and one B500k potentiometers

This is my nemesis circuit. When I started this instrument electronics addic…hobby, tried to build this on strip board quite many times and couldn’t get it to pass signal. I didn’t know anything back then and even tried FETs as transistors there WITHOUT understanding a thing about the difference or meaning of biasing.

Haven’t had any further intrest to try it again, but does it doom as Arkhaim/Megalith?

The Arkaim/Megalith. is high-gain circuit, with complex contouring controls The Snuffy Fuzz is a low-frequency fuzz circuit. Arkaim's tone is saturated and scooped, Snuffy is gated, mid-forward in tone. Both can be used with Bass.

Thanks! If you’d to pick between Fuzz factory or Woolly Mama which would it be?

nice shade of yellow you have there @OD is Glorious
it's similar to the duplicolor high heat yellow

i need to do the uv template tutorial so i can have tater printing on a pedal.. they look so nice..
I corrected. It was just yellow. They have so darn many colors. I do my own but I think the uv labels are probably the best - I just prefer to control every aspect of it and not wait for many weeks.
