This is pedal number 82 for me and the second Robin Trower OD I have built. It is very creamy with a distinct-mids-tone. I enjoy the overdrive that this pedal produces, but for me I want to go to a lower tone which I do not think I can get with this pedal. This is more creamy Tube Screamer than wide open Timmy. When you crank the drive it is a tight harmonic distortion. Pedal is slightly underpowered compared to some other overdrives.
I used a waterslide and matte clear coat. I am not happy with the waterslide because it has a sort of spotted appearance, probably due to my laser printer. I have ordered an inkjet Epson color 8550. I love to put red knobs on pedals as they are garish and contrast ensues. I had to use 9mm off-board pots and sand the board a few millimeters to get it to fit the 1590a. The LED hole lines up with the board and the Lumberg jacks fit perfectly at the top of the enclosure. I did shrink wrap most connections and I used a low profile footswitch.
I would say go build one but PPCB is sold out! Must be a great pedal. And look you can put this in a 1590a relatively easily.
