I put this together a couple weeks ago. I used a 1590bb so I could space out the controls more and use bigger knobs.
Here is the enclosure already painted and with the holes drilled. When I change the arrangement of the controls I try to retain as many on board pots as possible. In this case I was able to keep 3 out of 5. I did my layout for the control knobs but my brain had a momentary lapse of reason when I drilled the enclosure and had to make a small correction along the way. Funny.
Here you can see I adjusted the two outer pots to make sure they would line up with their holes. After this pic I filled in the rest of their solder.
Beginning to take shape
I tried to keep the wiring as neat as possible. This would have been easier with solder lug pots of course
And there we are. Fairly straight forward.
Here's a top view. The amp jewel is blue with a pink LED behind it, which gives it a subtle violet color that the camera does not do justice. My lighting also doesn't do this color any favors
It sounds pretty good! I made an Abyss a while back and I remember I had to change out one of the components to get the LFO to work right, but this worked straight away. The volume control really doesn't do much. I have an Electro Vibe coming up and I'm excited to hear the difference. Modulation is my favorite guitar effect.
I have an idea for labels in the future but my current workflow doesn't make it easy to implement them. I try to arrange the controls so it's easy to figure out the right knobs to turn. In this case the ones that matter, depth and rate, are closest to the LED. I actually prefer pedals with as few controls as possible. This one could be condensed to two and I'd be happy.
