Pigtronix Envelope Phaser EP1

I'm a huge sucker for envelope filters and phasers, and this is one that combines the two and sound great doing it. I'm guessing it's at least six stages- it sounds lush without being overbearing.
Not sure how difficult this one would be, as I can't find much info on the inner workings other than it's opto-based and apparently uses VTL5C3/2 or similar optos.

Seems fairly similar to the EHX PolyPhase, but has a few more doodads and nifty footswitches for the different modes. There also appears to be a fairly easy envelope inversion mod.

@l8tr.dude — aside from parts-tolerance drift, is there really that much difference in sound between a Green Russian Tall Font, GR Bubble Font, Black Russian, Civil War etc...?

About the only real difference I see in Kit Rae's schematics is the following feedback filters:

430p Red Army V1
500p Civil War & Tall-Font
470p Bubble-Font & Black

It's been a while since I've messed with them all together but I remember thinking the new Green Russian, the Tall Fonts and Bubble Font were all very much in same ballpark. There were some differences for sure but nothing more than between just my 3 Tall Fonts. The reissue was noticably less noisy though.
The Civil War was the stand out with little less gain but still very awesome. It had been tuned up by AnalogMan before I got it so can't say how that affected the tone.
The black Muffs I have are generally more uniform and not quite in the same ballpark as the greens.
In a live mix I doubt most are going to notice differences between them all though tbh.
I used a rehoused black muff for a while before I stopped using fuzz on my board. It would make a great platform to try out mods to see what you like. It's very easy to do and a fairly cheap pedal. Also fits great into 1590bb with only change I did was footswitch and LED.
If you're interested I could dig them out and post gut shots of them to compare when I get some time.

Awesome! Definitely doesn't appear to be the envelope reverse mod based on pics I've found of that.
I'm guessing the switch is just an SPDT? How's that wired?

This is the mod that allows the envelope and LFO to run simultaneously, right?
