Planning on building a Skeptical Boost?

I’m finishing one today. I got the part from mouser. I read somewhere when I was building it that this could be used in it’s place.

Just looking at the data sheet, looks like they’re a direct match
aside from the max operating temps.
 
Was thinking of getting this and CRAMMING it in with the Buffer buff-like-thinger — Euna what I mean.

This was probably beaten to death in one of those threads, but what is the advantage to this thing over a charge pump plus voltage divider (or something like a TLE2426 rail splitter)?

Price wise it's cheaper to go with the pump and some resistors, probably a wash if you use the rail splitter instead. This thing needs to regulate the 9v down to 5v first so that's more complexity on top.

Complete isolation between the pre-regulated power and signal circuits, allowing any power supply to be used.

Same manufacturer, slightly worse specs but it won't matter for our purposes. Seems like a good fit. There probably are other DC-DC converters by different manufacturers with specs even closer to the obsolete part available, maybe even cheaper. Would have to compare datasheets. In other words, no need to panic buy remaining stock :D

What are you referring to? The one I build calls for a TC1044 charge pump. Are the v1 tech docs different?
