PPCB MicroBoost Clean Boost x2 1590a

I made a pair of these and they are not designed to be a stand-alone-pedal. The PPCB MicroBoost Clean Boost has no LED or VCC/Ground connections - it has a spot for an A100K potentiometer, an out, an in and a power and a ground. It sounds great alone, so I wanted it to be a pedal. To do this I had to horse around a bit. I apologize for my gut-shot in advance.

I used a PPCB D.C. Breakout to gain ground wires form jacks and VCC for the Illuminated footswitch. I originally used the PPCB illuminated switch breakout but then remembered that it has no spot for a resistor (CLR) for the LED. So I unsoldered the Illuminated switch connections (see image of solid wires on the footswitch) and instead I used 22 gauge wires to attach the illuminated footswitch to the 3PDT Breakout Board with Brightness Control board. I did this because I needed the LED holes and the CLR (resistor). Since I did not need the brightness control option, I just jumpered two of the holes for the trimmer on the Brightness Control board.

The MicroBoost Clean Boost is put together with SMDs and it has a 1N5817 so I did not need to problem solve adding one. I initially populated two PPCB Muffin Crumb Amplifier Stage boards to put in each pedal, but I quickly decided that this Microclean boost has enough headroom. They both sound wonderful as they are and they are what they say they are... micro and clean boost. Might be one of the smallest boards you can put in a 1590a. For the enclosures I used film free decals of my own design. I then used Spraymax 2k clear to protect the artwork. I used large clear see thru knobs on each pedal and both have Lumberg side jacks and a Lumberg D.C. top jack. I am not happy with some of my buggered up powder coat from my decal bake on the lavender one - I will improve.

This is a fun project and I hope I was able to describe how I made my connections. I have to say, I very much enjoy the Illuminated footswitch and I have ordered more. Some of these illuminated footswitches have a larger footprint... this particular one - I need a large 11/16' hole in the pedal to accommodate the illuminated ring. Here is where I purchased the footswitch that I used.
