Protoboard - can I switch input and output?

The Protoboard has the output on the left side just like a real pedal. All pedal schematics I have show output on the right side of the schematic.
Can I re-label all the inputs and outputs on the Protoboard and plug the input on the left side without causing any problems in the circuit? (not sure it's OCD, might be inability to adapt to conflicting inputs...)
I found a schematic of the Protoboard and I didn't see a problem, but I am just entering the hobby and not an expert (as my retirement hobby! I love this stuff).
(I know the direction of the setup doesn't affect the sound)

If you can live with home-grown and human-placed stickers applied over screen-printing, it's not OCD.

I think you're idea will work. That said, it won't take too much breadboarding before the conflict between the orientations of the schematic and the PCB become trivial to you.
 
I just realized the schematic I found is old, it has the jumpers across the headers for auto-connect to the breadboards which Robert said is the old version. On looking at the board, I can see traces that look like the on-off switch is connected to the input jack, so maybe I can't just reverse this.
Anyone have a new schematic?

The "Input" line (your circuit input) is grounded when the toggle switch is in bypass.

You can reverse the input/output connections but you'll be grounding the output of your circuit in bypass, instead of the input as intended.

In most cases that won't matter... unless you're building some sort of power amp, line driver, or DC coupled device.

I'm now on board with doing as intended. In my defense I'm an old dog who likes to try new tricks.
