As an update, my package has now moved from Germany to Milan, Italy ????

So Thailand-China-Bahrain-Germany-Italy... hopefully the next stop is the US (Cincinatti) and then Montreal...

What a trip !
 
Wow - that's crazy! I just received two orders from Tayda here in Western Australia and it generally takes maybe 3 days to get here, costs around US$10-15 and there are no other fees. But shipping to us from the US has been nightmarish in the last few years, owing to covid and he who I don't want to name. Just a few years ago an electric guitar cost US$150 to ship here via UPS if you dealt with the right stores - now it's closer to US$300. It used to take a week, now it's more like two.

Everything is going backwards! At least I can afford to shop at Tayda. Whatever the shipping is it's still way cheaper than sourcing stuff here.

Don’t get me started on shipping guitars. Recently bought a Bleedlove Companion, that’s their smallest acoustic, a travel size. SweetWater ships it in such a big box that Standard Canadian custom won’t process it. With that box size, it has to go through the commercial/bulk import process. I had to get it ship to a friend in the US who wanted to forward it to me. The price we got from UPS for the big box was 400$ !!! 😮

He brought it back home, repackaged it and shipped it through USPS for 102$. Box size make a big difference.
