I screwed up, but hoping to save others from repeating the same mistake.
I normally lightly scuff painted enclosures with 1000-grit sandpaper prior to clear coating to help it adhere. I've done this on numerous enclosures from Tayda and Small Bear with no issues. Tayda's "ball silver" color appears to be very thin with a dark grey base coat (perhaps it has to do with the metallic looking finish). After I noticed my mistake, I kept sanding the rest of the sides attempting to make the enclosure usuable (kinda reminds me of the hammered copper texture). Not sure yet if I'll use it or just repaint the entire enclosure. Regardless, learn from my dumb mistake!
