To build you could have fun with an octave down in the feedback loop of the delay, maybe the boss OC2, I think it's a pretty straight forward one.

If you're planning to play around, the deep blue delay is quite fun, change the frequency response, add delay lines, parallel, cascade, series, or even drop another effect before the feedback.

I own two actually. A friend was downsizing and gave me his one. Maybe use them both. Octave down would be fun with the rubbernecking. I sometimes use both switches. Right foot on oscillation and left foot on rubbernecking. Keep playing an let rubbernecking lose and the repeats are an octave down.
Think about what would happen with and actual Octave down in the feedbackloop.....

Nice suggestions. Wavefolding filter sample and hold. Also thinking about using modular synth modules.
I once bought a madbean pcb but they turn out pretty expensive to be send to The Netherlands. (Still need to finish that one. Wavelord tremolo with sync input)

One that surprised me that I use all the time now is the Nutty Fuzz. It’s basically just an Escobedo Ugly Face with an expression input. Simple Build, super fun.

Are vactrols made exclusively with lead? What's wrong with lead, euroboys? Leaded gasoline is just fine, too </s>

Might be interesting to try something like a square wave fuzz or ask @Aleph Null if they have any more Clever Hans boards—comparator fuzz is. It is, as gandalf says about the one ring, "quite cool."

For a quirky, but cool digital chorus that can go bonkers, Madbean's Florist is cool.

I have yet to build my madbean Wavelord, but it seems like it'll be hyper awesome, plus getting the required custom chip will be faster for you, as the maker is in the EU.

Banzai sells the Xvive VTL5c 1 2 and 3 and so does Musikding but they are "Not available now"
Musikding has a filterfx kit available which includes the Xvive vactrol. So I think the Nutty Fuzz is just not in their catalog.
