Pretty easy build that worked perfectly after I spent an embarrassingly long time troubleshooting it because I soldered the signal wire to the input jack's ring instead of tip.

I used tantalums and MLCCs because that's what I used and hence there's a lot of yellow in this one.

I used an OP07 which is LETTER O, P, and NUMERAL zero, seven. Getting these details right is important.

Also I used one of my out-of-spec 2N5457s because that's what I have. It works.

Sounds like a Rat. Nice in a nasty way. I'm thinking about doing a demo but maybe later. Maybe.

Hey, it really does happen that cases get thrown out on such mere technical details.

So... Indeed, those are important details, the Letter Letter Number Number thing.

I did the same thing on my recent Landgraff OD clone for a friend, wired up the signal wire wrong on the second jack after I'd made a point of making sure it was correct on the first jack.

Balancing your blue footswitch ring with a blue LED is a great touch, contrasts nicely with the red decor.

Exactly so. I would have sworn that I double checked both jacks as I soldered them, which is why it took me so long to figure out why there was no signal going through the pedal. I thought I must have killed the footswitch so I spent ages checking continuity and confirming it worked as it should. Then I finally got out the audio probe and discovered that the signal wasn't even reaching the input.

Yep, contrasting colours are doing it for me right now. I haven't done the decoration for my next pedal yet, but I have ideas...

At least your guitar was plugged in. I may or may not have done that a half dozen times.

And this was after I congratulated myself for making sure I inserted the transistor and the IC before testing this time, because I've missed doing that multiple times.

I just did this last night testing my Closed Circuit build, no bypass signal, then I unplugged the pedal and STILL no bypass signal, checked the settings on my digital interface, made sure I had the correct input channel selected, checked volume, then looked up on the wall and realized my cable was plugged into the guitar hanging on the wall and not the one in my lap......duh........
