Ok, I admit it...this guy annoys me. For a while, I didn't know why. But now, it's settled. The reason is in the way he talks, the way he presents himself. There's an aire of arrogance and cockiness about him. I mean, it's one thing to be confident...but I don't think this is confidence. I think it's just...umm..."being a dick"? Considering the controversy over Vertex pedals over the years, the reason that's the case is pretty self-explanatory. Guy is a poser. :P

This is the video that made me realize that very thing. Don Carr seems to ask the right questions...but Mason's answers just scream BULLSHIT...and judging by Carr's response, I think he realizes it too. But he just does his best, nods his head, and keeps trucking on with the video.

“…Ehm- kay two…”
Does he not understand ”Mk” is a written abbreviation for “Mark”.

Probably says “ten ehm-ehm” for “10mm”, too.

Ha! Jack Black if he was a pretentious dick.
He’s not?

Kidding. I really don’t know one way or the other what Mr Black is like, I just know he married the daughter of one of my bass heroes. Found that out via a blurry vid of Haden & Friends playing “Ol’ Joe Clark” and Black bouncing around like a lunatic on the stage singing and I’m thinking “How the hell did Jack insinuate himself into the proceedings?”
Can’t find the vid now, of course…

I agree. He does talk some shit and a lot of people seem to blindly follow. I would never buy a vertex pedal.

I actually own one though its been disguised so you can't tell what it is. I was looking for a BBE wah and one of the members of the fretboard forum offered me a vertex (BBE wah in drag) he'd been trying to sell when the scandal kicked off and it became practically worthless overnight. I think he sold it to me for £25 in the end. I removed the vertex logo and spray painted the top. It actually sounds great. BBE did a fantastic job with them.
