Seabed mod for more feedback?

Hi all, I built a Seabed delay because I love PT2399's!

It sounds lovely, everything is clearly within spec on the PT chip. BUT with max repeats I'm only getting 4-5 repeats before the sound fades out. Could I swap out some bits to be able to crank this into a self-repeating nightmare when the repeats knob is dimed? Thank you for any thoughts!

The repeats degrade fairly quickly, so what about adding a chaos momentary-footswitch?

It can be a two-knobber or a trimmer&knob — or throw caution to the wind and it can just short out the repeats knob and send the unit into runaway self-oscillation until you take your foot off the switch...

There's various threads about doing that sort of mod;
and several other PT2399 schematics to gleeb info from and bump up the repeats.

For instance, the PT2399 pin 6 in the Spirit Box is meant to give a short pre-delay for the reverb, its pot is B10k
The Seabed's PT2399 repeats-pot on pin 6 is B50k, so it stands to reason that you could get more repeats by using a B100k pot.
(I've seen 100k spec'd on other similar PT2399 delays.)

Try bumping the repeats pot to 250k or 500k, see what happens.

Also mess with R17, just make sure you've got a minimum of 1k on it, 'cause anything lower will most likely lock up your PT2399.

Happy modding!

ps, Almost forgot this:

Thanks Feral, these are the kind of tweaks I was looking for! Taking a PT2399 outside of its 'specs' is where all the fun is! I come from Euorack land, where I've built and loved MANY wacky delay modules like the venerable Nonlinearcircuits Delay No More. I just looked over the schematic for that module and sure enough there's a 1M pot feeding the delay pin whereas the Seabed is using merely 50k! I'll give these mods a try, thank you!

... Nonlinearcircuits Delay No More. ...

W🙀W !

A name like that ...
... can only mean NonLinearCircuits' people know exactly what it implies.

Very *RUDE! They kiss their mothers with those mouths?

I've often walked by this shop, Goods Of Desire the kitschy company, that popularised the homophone...

Now looking at this, I'm pretty sure this nomenclature-topic has come up before:

I'll have to take a gander at NonLinearCircuits' DelayNoMore schematic.

*I'm just mad because ... I was going to use that name. Pity it's already taken.
