question do all 4 capacitors need to be 14 volts?
its easy finding the value but the volts arent so easy to find i think some websites like mojo tone have more amplifier parts than smaller volts for pedals
Based on this post from another thread I think maybe part of the problem may be some simple misunderstandings. For capacitors, the voltage rating just has to be higher than the amount of voltage that will flow through it, plus maybe a little buffer for good measure.
If there is an electrolytic cap listed on a BOM that says 35v, anything 35v and above will work perfectly so long as it fits the space available for it on the board and has the right capacitance.
So you could buy one that is rated for 50v and be on your way, or whatever is available 35v and above.
Perhaps there are other specs you could be hunting for that don’t actually matter?
Unless otherwise noted resistors for all the boards should be 1/4w. I prefer metal film as they have tighter tolerances and likely a little less noise than other types. Tayda has every value you will likely ever need for very low prices on these.
Capacitors need to be rated for voltage, most circuits here stick to 9v, some will go as high as 35v or maybe even higher. I tend to buy rated for 50v electrolytic because I don’t have to worry unless I’m building a tube based circuit that runs at high voltage. For film caps I prefer box film, and for ceramics, I prefer C0G/NP0, but any form of these will generally work, perhaps with some minor downsides/tradeoffs.
All these capacitors need to also have the correct capacitance. Sometimes they’ll list them in microfarads (uF) which is 1k nanofarads (nF), which is 1k picofarads (pF).
Transistors and ICs can usually be found, but there are definitely mojo parts here. There is almost always a suitable substitute that can be found if you search the forum for the name of the part you’re looking for.
If you’re stuck, do some searches around the forum, parts sourcing has been discussed at length!
Good luck!
