Got another build report for y'all. I've been going through a bit of a modulation phase lately, and phasers are generally the modulation I use the least, so this seemed like it would be a good opportunity to try a different kind of phaser out. Overall I enjoyed this build, although I still have my gripes with Aion's boards/wiring in general. I think the way they have their wiring laid out is a little unnecessary in spots, and maybe it's just me but I feel like the solder doesn't want to flow as easily on their boards as it does on PPCB's stuff. I tried to tidy some of those things up a bit (streamlining the ground wiring, for example). It all seems to work properly, so that experiment was successful at least.
As far as the way the pedal itself sounds, I think it's a pretty solid phaser. It's a Small Stone clone, and while it might not be as "chewy" as an MXR Phase 90 or something like that, I really like the way it sounds. The color switch gives two fairly unique voicings, and I particularly like the way it sounds in the down position. Although I'm not entirely sure whether that's engaging or disengaging the feedback network in the pedal . Overall though, it's a solid-sounding phaser with parts that are easy to source, which is definitely a plus in my book when it comes to building any kind of modulation.
