About two years ago, everybody (michaelw, GOTA, Mr. Black Hat) was building the sheepylove Phewe and I was phaserless. So I asked Mr. Dave if he would provide me with a PCB so I could play too. He was kind enough to send me the gerbers and slapped my logo on them as well. I was ordering a bunch of my own stuff from JLC too, so I tossed these in my order, and now it's a bit like this:
And then they sat, while I wasn't building fuck all for a couple years. Then I was about to build it for myself when my nephew wanted a phaser for Christmas and I had all the junk on hand to put it together. I made a quick edit to the artwork (his band is called Three Seater) and I'll use my version when I make another one for myself once I scrape up some pot money.
Several years ago I had a run of the mill phase 90, which was actually great, and I sold it off for some reason or another and have missed it ever since. The PH-1 is close enough for most purposes. It sounds pretty good. There's a lot of reasons to want a phaser, whether it be Luckenbach Texas
Love Takes A Long Time To Die
Or Island of Domination
The ph-1 will reasonably get me there. I have a feeling my nephew will be using it more for something like Cherub Rock or whatever but I don't fuck with that.
I imagine I'll still be building an actual phase 90 at some point but the PHewe is very usable in the meantime. Artwork by me, (inspired by the western wear usps stamp series) no film decal on a cream enclosure. no demo today since I'm still relearning to play guitar and have zero time to do so.
