Shipping is crazy!

I thought I'd build another amp because (a) I'm bored, (b) I have some suitable transformers, and (c) Mojotone now make a suitable chassis, turretboard and faceplates for me to build a 15W Vox style amp. And I thought an AC15-ish amp might sound good with my recent US Epiphone Casino. :)

So I ordered those parts from Mojo and most of the other parts from Antique Electronics on the 31st of December. So I was rather surprised to see my order from Antique arrive today - in Western Australia. 👍 Also today I got an email from Mojo saying that they are sending me my stuff today/tomorrow. I'm quite tempted to tell them that I already have my stuff from Antique Electronics! But I'm just grateful when anything arrives...

I thought everything from the US is super slow lately because USPS stopped shipping here. Are they using DHL or another courier?

Well that's just it - everything is super slow. On the same day my PCBs arrived - 2 months after I ordered. That's why it was so surprising to receive the Antique order. I think they used UPS.

And FWIW Tayda is that fast to us here! Usually under a week.

It's all so crazy.

I got a "Your parcel is coming today" text from Australia Post this morning, for a replacement soundcard for my computer. The old one went bad on the Toslink output, so I swapped to the coax output and it works perfectly, but I ordered a replacement card anyway.

From China, ordered 22 Dec, arriving today. That's 15 days, Shenzen to Melbourne. And of course it's something that I'm not all that fussed about, and not something that I want RIGHT NOW. And also of course the stuff I'm really waiting for is still somewhere in the great postal void...

But yeah, crazy.

EDIT: And while I was typing that: delivered.

Ha! That's happened to me before too - something I needed but didn't really care about about arrived when I was hoping it was something fun. It's such a let-down.
