Simplest Tremolo Circuit - Where can I find one?

Can anyone share an EXTREMELY simple tremolo circuit schematic or an analysis of one? I want to learn the building blocks of one to be able to go through some of the PedalPCB ones on a breadboard. I understand what an LFO is from a high level, but don't understand how the components interact with each other. I also don't have any photoresistors, which may be a problem to build some of the building blocks....

There's a few analyses that spring to mind, this was also something I have had difficulty understanding.
  • Runoff Groove's Tri-Vibe schematic and writeup was really helpful for me getting a grasp on how LFOs work in pedals. They detail alternatives for general circuit functionality although not at nauseating depth
  • ElectroSmash's Phase 90 Analysis: https://www.electrosmash.com/mxr-phase90. Little wordy (imho) but hits on some points mentioned in Runoff Groove and gets into FETs as variable resistors
  • I have not read RG Keen's analysis of the Uni-Vibe but I imagine it is great like everything else he does http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/univibe/uvfrindx.htm
  • Reddit comment in reply to "How to Add LFO to pedal?" The digital potentiometer implementation mentioned here is especially good and might be insightful with any of hurdles with LFOs
The meat of a lot of it is that generating a low frequency wave isn't difficult but making it so that wave has impacts on different parts of a guitar pedal circuit gets complicated, and fast.
