Small bear now stocking Pedal Hacker Stock

Got this email in my inbox.

There was some discussion during the group call about smallbear letting a lot of their vintage and "special" stock kinda go by the wayside and speculation that some of the sources had dried up. Looks like this is what they're doing to make up for that.

Price point doesn't look like it's changed. Got mixed feelings on it, honestly. Not a huge fan of consolidation as a rule.

Thoughts?

Here's the link to their "expanded inventory"

Hadn’t heard of Pedal Hacker before. Just did a quick forum search…

Looks like they were a component/part supplier that developed a bad reputation based on being slow to fill and ship orders?

And then went out of business sometime in the last few years?

Was timeliness/reliability the only issue, or were there problems with product quality as well?

The impression I got was, as was pointed out above, that their prices were enormously inflated for what they were offering.

Not *everything* was horrifically priced. But there's lots of examples like those tantalum caps that make you go "huh?"

Like...small bear has their "Original/unused" MN3009's and they're asking like a hundred dollars for a single IC. Fuckin...no. In a world where xvive exists, what the fuck.

I've made a couple of orders over the years. Mostly of the cheaper stuff. They were slow to ship. Didn't go back for much over the years.

Lots of stuff for people who want to sell woo woo bullshit. Some decent finds.

Have to agree about the dubious practice of buying up the competition to combat supplies dwindling...

Prices will go up to cover the costs of acquisitions.
