I've been meaning to ask that. Can you recommend a hot air tool? I imagine conventional hair-dryers probably put out enough static to fry the chips.Another option, if you have a hot air tool and the ability, is to remove the CH341A from a working USB EEPROM programmer. These are available for less than $10 from Amazon, and you can confirm that it's functional before removing it from the module.
