I got the new Spark Neo about a month ago and it's really convenient. Anyone else tried it?
Seems outside of what I like:
-pedals, tube amps, no latency, knowing how all the electrons are behaving.
But for certain activities, it eliminates bunch of cables and feels really freeing.
-testing pedal builds at night
-practicing along with bluetooth phone music (guitar, bass, keyboard, synth). For keyboard/synth, you can bypass the amp/pedal sims.
-no disruption in podcasts when testing pedals.
-playing electric throughout the house
Previously I'd use Iridium -> pedalpcb 3-channel mixer (to add aux cord from phone) -> pedalpcb headphone amp when I wanted headphones. I think that setup does have a bit better tone than what I've found in the Neo, though the Neo is pretty good and I haven't fully explored it.
But, the reduction in cables/clutter and setup time is incredible. What are others using for this type of stuff?
-Pedal solutions like iridium or pedalpcb unicab & headphone amp?
-Computer DAW / VSTs?
-No interest in headphones, only amps?
