Hey everyone! Fairly new to DIY pedals.
I completed the Glory Hole overdrive and went to test it and had some issues:
Bypassed worked great. When I turn the pedal on and turn up volume I get this high pitch squeal. Honestly sounds like a sine wave. The potentiometers will all change the pitch/volume of said squeal… but I have not found a pattern. The tone pot seems to have the biggest effect because when I touch it, it lowers the noise a bit. C101 also has a major effect on it when I touch that component as well. I do not hear my guitar whatsoever when pedal is engaged. When I turn it back off the squeal is still faintly present.
As far as connections go I believe they’re all solid according to my multimeter. One thing it may be is my Transistor is a 2n5458 as opposed to 2n5457… but from what I read it may just provide higher gain???
Thoughts? I’ll add some pictures later.
