LectricFX Star Chambre Delay - Clone of MXR 118 V1 . Tracking filters to extend delay time (via bilateral switches)
Ya I misspelled Chambre on the enclosure oops!
Descriptions of DC Echo and Anamorph, and a comparison to the Star Chambre:
DC Echo:
- Clone of EHX Echo 600
- 3 x 3005 biased at 650ms: - can do longer time
- Tight build
- Clean analog delay from short to long, less degraded repeats than most analog delays on long delays - can do longer delay time, I like 650ms
- Modulation from mild to wild
- Long repeats
- Input/Output controls - Unity In/Out or Input can be used to create mild OD and/or Output for small boost
- Short/Long Delay SW - Short: uses 1 x 3005 for up to 200ms, Long: uses 3 x 3005 for up to 650ms.
- Does great cascading clean melodies
- If you want MM clean build this
Anamorph:
- Elements of DM2 and MM
- 2 x 3005 biased at 600ms
- Short delays cleaner than DM2 but darker than MM, longer delays more like DM2
- Modulation from mild to wild
- Modded mine for longer than stock repeats
- Psuedo Stereo outputs
- Tails SW (Internal)
- Tayda Drill File
- Great all around analog delay lots of mods - old school vibes with bells and whistles easiest build out of the three - Gotta love it!
- If you want DM2 ish old school build this
Star Chamber (Description and Comparison):
- Clone of MXR 118
- 2 x 3005 biased at 700ms - will do 800ms as advertised, I like 700ms
- TIGHT BUILD - a bit tighter than the DC Echo
- Tracking filters using cd4016be bilateral switches to extend delay time
- Short delays almost as clean as the DC Echo, as delay is turned up sounds darker closer to the Anamorph
- No onboard modulation, hookups for offboard
- Shorter repeats than the DC Echo and Anamorph - short repeats sound relatively articulate like the DC Echo, long repeats less articulate (smoother, rounder, less defined?) like the Anamorph,
- If you want different build this
It's different, I like it, keeping it. Plus it has aluminum knobs!
