Sticker Graphics Sourcing

Looking for options for some stickers for art. Last round I used these https://ninjatransfers.com/products/uv-dtf-stickers-decals-by-size

They look good, are a little raised to give some depth, can print white, cut to shape, get pretty detailed and you can gang orders together really easily.

The only issue I had was the adhesive. If you SLIGHTLY touch it against something, it is stuck and not going anywhere. While that is great for the longevity placing it you have one chance.

I was wondering if there was a source for stickers similar to this but with an adhesive that had some cure time to it. I know things like 3m180, what they use for car wraps, can be moved around and takes about 24 hours to cure. I know I could get them done on 180 but it is large format and my 2-3 sqft wouldn't be worth them turning on the printer.

The trick is to get a spray bottle with mostly water and just a drop or two of dish soap and lightly mist the surface right before you apply your decal.

It allows you to apply the graphic without wrinkles or bubbles and you can slide it around a little (or pull it off and re-apply if you need to) until the soap-water evaporates out.

This is how we did it when I worked in a sign shop years ago.

Also, for bigger decals, don’t pull the whole backing off and try to slap it down. Position it where you want it (with backing still on), tape it down just at the top with masking tape. Then with the masking tape acting as a hinge, slowly pull the backing off at the same time you’re applying pressure with your squeegee.

If you search for “vinyl wet application” you can find a bunch of videos.

I used to build a lot of Lego and that's the technique I used for perfectly aligning stickers on Lego bricks 😄 It works.

These are second surface prints, they have a backer you peel, place and then pull the top backer off.

I’ll try that, have a couple spare Tayda logos I made.

Same technique should work, just with the added step of pulling off the top mask at the end.

You may want to give it a day to cure before you try to pull the mask off, lest you pull the graphic back off with it.
We used a special low-tack masking tape when we did this, but I’m not sure what they’re using here.

If you search for something like ‘cut vinyl application’ you can probably find videos/tutorials that are pretty close to what you’re trying to do.
